I’ve always been inspired by the works of the great pop artists of the 1960’s. I remember when I first came across Roy Lichtensteins canvas ‘ART’. It seemed obvious to me that this resembled similar techniques to what I had already been using for so many years. Vivid colours and bold, definite shapes have always interested me.
I also love the works of Peter Blake, Andy Warhol, Tom Wesselman, Patrick Caulfield and one of my favourite canvases is ‘Love Rising’ by Robert Indiana.
It has taken a lot of trial and error and years of dedication for me to develop my own artwork, capturing the essence of the pop art movement and fusing it with a blend of traditional craftsmanship, whilst maintaining a modern approach to create innovative, and contemporary wildlife paintings.
